Board of Directors Meeting

May 30^th, 2018

 

The Snowmobile North Dakota Board of Directors held a meeting on May 30^th, 2018.

 

Members Present: Troy Klevgard, Dale Deibert, Joel Iverson, Shawn Cole, Brent Haugen, Perry Brintnell, Randy Knain, Reily Bata, Laura Forbes, Paula Berg, Sherman Pladson

 

Excused Absence: Joanne Seifert, Jeff Seifert, Quince Hambek

 

Others Present: Todd Thronson – Executive Director, Tari Norby – Office Manager,  Matt Gardner & Erik Dietrich – NDPRD

 

1. Call to order at 7:04 PM by Troy Klevgard
2. Approve Agenda – Shawn made a motion to accept the agenda, seconded by Joel, approved by all members present

• Approve Minutes
  1. The minutes of the February meeting were e-mailed to all board members prior to the meeting.
  2. Shawn made a motion to accept the minutes, seconded by Joel, approved by all members present

1. Financial Reports
   1. The financial reports were e-mailed to all board members prior to the meeting
   2. Paula made a motion to accept the financial reports as written, seconded by Perry, approved by all members present
2. Reports
   1. President’s Report: nothing to report
   2. Office Report:
      1. Tracked Vehicle Testing took place March 8-11
      2. Applied for a Wells Fargo Grant

• All systems were inspected with areas that groomed

1. 8 systems groomed this year

1. NDPRD Report:
   1. Matt is leaving NDPRD
   2. Legislation pursue registration takeover from DOT to NDPRD
      1. DOT in full support
   3. Committee Reports
      1. Equipment Committee – will meet after Board meeting
      2. Budget Committee – no updates
      3. Regulations Committee – no updates
      4. Awards and Nominations Committee
         1. Associate Member – B&J Excavating – Northern Lights Trailblazers
         2. Young Snowmobiler – Kristian Fritz – Northern Light Trailblazers

• Hall of Fame – Harland Haugen – Sheyenne Sno-Drifters

1. Trails Operations Committee – no updates

• Old Business
  1. Probation Systems – both the Northeast and East Central Valley are on track so far
  2. Groomer Tracking Software & Mapping Program Update – changed the background for maps to Google Earth / Google Maps – uses actual points groomer puts out when grooming – working on dashboard so don’t need to recollect groomer points – working on correlation with time cards
  3. Tracked Vehicle Testing – Testing went perfectly
     1. Data will be sent out once compiled
  4. 2018 SND Convention – Magic City Driftbusters, Minot ND – Nov 30-Dec 1 – Holiday Inn – Vintage Display
  5. 2019 State Ride – Langdon ND Moonlighters Snowmobile Club – February 2^nd
  6. 2019 State Convention – Bottineau ND – Peace Garden Trail Association – December 6^th and 7^th
• New Business
  1. Northeast Report
     1. Cavalier Club disbanded
     2. Not sure – miles might be cut

• Possible hold public meetings
