 Snowmobile Safety Course Program

Each year 100’s of kids in North Dakota are trained to receive their snowmobile safety certificate.  The state of North Dakota requires snowmobilers, whom are at least 12 years of age and without a valid driver’s license, to obtain and possess a certificate from the state of North Dakota when operating a snowmobile on state trails and/or public land.

The snowmobile certified training courses are administered by the North Dakota Parks & Recreation Department.  A complete class schedule can be accessed through the link at the bottom of the page.  The North Dakota Parks & Recreation Department and the Snowmobile North Dakota office also have a schedule of the classes as well.  The classes cost $10 per student which covers the processing fee for the safety packets.  When the certified training course has been completed, all students will receive a snowmobile safety certificate providing the student passed the course.

Snowmobiling is a fun and healthy recreation for people of all ages.  Snowmobilers are bringing a change to the great outdoors, and with this comes rules for safety, operation, courtesy and environmental issues.  That is what Snowmobile North Dakota’s snowmobile safety course program is all about, so start preparing your child for the learning experience of a lifetime!  For a student, the snowmobile safety certificate is like having a license to drive and is just as exciting to experience.

The mission of the North Dakota Parks & Recreation Department’s Snowmobile Education Program is to prevent snowmobile related accidents through programs that instruct North Dakotan’s in snowmobile operation and safety.

In order to receive more information on the snowmobile safety education program please contact the North Dakota Parks & Recreation Department at 701-328-5357 or visit their website.
